Innovation Awards

The Foodservice Packaging Institute (FPI) honors packaging excellence in foodservice packaging in four categories: Performance Innovation, Machinery Innovation, Material Innovation, and Marketing Innovation. One package, chosen from the first place winners of each of the category, is awarded “Foodservice Package Innovation of the Year”. The Convertible Clamshell package won the Foodservice Packaging Innovation Award after winning 1^st place in the Performance Innovation category.

The Judges were impressed that every detail of HAVI Global Solutions’ Convertible Clamshell served a practical function. The Convertible Clamshell serves as a plate-like surface for assembling the food as well as an eating surface for consumers. The design reduced overall build time for the food by 15-20 percent along with a 75 percent reduction in the time associated with closing the food and packaging.
